Hello and thank you for the consideration in joining the URTV series. I would like to ask all potential cast members to please read through these rules and regulations. Failure to follow these guidelines could result negatively - in extreme cases, leading to punishment.
First and foremost, you must be C-O-M-M-I-T-T-E-D. This is an ORG that's going to require you to check in often. Keep in mind that Big Brother is a social game and failure to stay active will severely limit your potential in getting far. How the game will be scheduled and when you need to be here will be explained below.
Scheduling
I run ORGs on what I like to call "Real Time Scheduling". This basically means that I aim to make all "weeks" in the Big Brother house actually resemble Big Brother weeks. All weeks will usually last 6-8 days in length. The main purpose for this is so that assholes can have plenty of time to live their life outside the game, people in power can discuss their options, and people on the chopping block can scramble to stay safe. This also gives ample opportunity for live competitions to be scheduled and agreed upon. There will be 2-3 challenges every week, along with you having to keep up your social game, update your Diary Room, and all that other fun stuff.
With this scheduling, URTV games can tend to run a few months. So if you're someone who is looking for a game that's going to end fast, this is not for you.
Casting
To sign up for this game, you must fill out an application. The absolute best applications will be chosen. All applications will be anonymous so past reputations are completely moot in the process.
I don't care if you're a newbie, someone who's been around the block, a friend of mine, an enemy mine - if you apply, you have the same shot assholes else does. Just make sure that your application is going to be head and shoulders better than the rest.
Anyone that is currently in All-Stars are NOT permitted to join. Additionally, you cannot apply if blacklisted.
Characters
As typical in BBORGs, you will be choosing a former Big Brother contestant to represent you. In Big Brother Double Digits, you will have the choice of choosing anyone from season's 10 or 11.
Keep in mind, you may not always get the character you like. I understand some people may get picky over characters, but always keep in mind they're just simply an avatar and picture base for you in this game. Ultimately, how you act is how you are perceived.
Also, since I do get asked about it a lot, no I do not force a dress code. You can have whatever avatar and sig you want as long as they are appropriate for the board's dimensions and don't break Proboards TOS.
AOL Instant Messenger
AIM is required for this game. You're going to need it to maintain a social game outside of the board. Additionally, certain competitions will be held on AIM. You don't have to use an alias screen name, but you may if you wish to.
Skype
If you are interested on attending the finale, make sure you have Skype around then. A URTV tradition is that we always do a LIVE Skype finale. More details on the finale will be posted around the endgame.
House
Once the game begins, the boards will open up. There will be various rooms in the house and they all serve a purpose.
The Livingroom is the meeting area. You will first introduce yourselves here. Once that's over with, this room will exclusively be held for meetings. Nomination, Veto, and Eviction Ceremonies will always take place here. Additionally, I may make major announcements here if I ever need to.
Social Grounds - This is the chit chat forum. Talk about anything, do whatever. If you ever get banished to the Kombi Van, this will be the only room you have access to other than your Diary Room. (For additional details on the Kombi Van, look below)
Backyard - This is a live chatting area. It basically resembles a chat room. No competitions will ever be held here, it's just there for anyone who doesn't feel like talking on AIM or something to that extent.
Bedrooms - Bedrooms are basically just another chit chat section, but exclusive to certain people. Once the game begins, I will have sign up sheets in each bed room. If you're interested in sleeping in the bedroom, simply put your name on the list. Once the room is filled up, it is closed and only it's inhabitants will have access to it for the rest of the game.
Diary Room - Your personal room. Only you and Housecalls can see this forum. Impress us here. Keeping an active and informative Diary Room will highly increase your chances of making All-Stars. It also adds to the fun once the game is over and boards are opened.
Co-Op Diary Rooms - This is an optional room that you must request. If you wish to have a Co-Op Diary Room that includes you and a friend, get in contact with me. This basically just a Diary Room for two. Make sure it stays active or I will scrap it.
HOH Bedroom - If you win Head of Household, you will earn your own luxury suite. You can use this room to keep temporary notes or invite people up. Each and every week, the room will be cleaned out before the new host moves in.
Competitions
HOH Competition - This weekly challenge is to determine the Head of Household. These competitions are usually non-live or in sessions, but they can be live too. Win this challenge and you will earn the right to your own bedroom, a pass off slop, immunity for the week, and more importantly the duty to nominate two people for eviction. The previous week's HoH will not compete nor anyone who fails to vote for the previous eviction.
POV Competition - This challenge will have the HOH, the two nominees, and three other houseguests that are randomly drawn. These challenges are usually live and will require you to be here, but other times it might not be. The winner of this competition will have the Power of Veto - the powerful medallion which can save someone from the nomination block, including themselves.
Food Competition - These challenges will test your teamwork with the others. You will have to work together to keep you and others off the dreaded slop. "Slop" comes in three elements which won't halter your gameplay experience, but will make your appearance more upsetting. Your sig will be replaced with a slop banner, your avatar will be sized down, and you will be given the special slop skin. When on slop, you must stay on it until Eviction night. Failure to do this will result in punishment.
Activity
You are expected to be active in this game. I know assholes here has lives, jobs, friends, family, school, whatever. But that's the point of real time scheduling.
Every week it is helpful to make a thread in your diary room with a boot list. This ensures that if you're not able to make the vote, we can go by the boot list to determine who you would evict. This prevents you from being punished.
You are expected to keep at least one confessional per week! We can't read minds, so we would appreciate it if you keep us informed. While I very much prefer detailed confessionals, it'd be appreciated even if you could just get a sentence or two in each week to describe your position in the game and what you're doing. It's better than writing absolutely nothing, which usually earns you the right to get mocked by HC throughout the season unless you have a pretty good excuse.
If you ever miss a vote without a boot list, you will be punished by sitting out of the next HOH competition. Do not make this a habit or punishments may get more severe.
If you miss a competition, you will be skipped. All competitions are 24 hours unless stated otherwise. Once again, please do not make this a habit.
If you are absent for two weeks without notice, you will be expelled. Always give us notice if you are going on vacation or away from home!
RULES & GUIDELINES
I'm pretty lenient when it comes to rules, but we do have to follow some guidelines to retain order around here. Abusing the rules will earn you a spot on the blacklist.
Cheating
- There is to be absolutely no cheating under any circumstances. All challenges are to be completed on your own unless specifically stated otherwise. Anyone that's caught or reported in doing this will receive a harsh penalty.
- When you're evicted, you're evicted. You're gone from the house. You have no involvement in the game anymore. Do not get involved in game politics once you're evicted. You have no say in anything anymore. Any pre-juror that is in constant trouble for this will risk being banned from the board entirely. Any juror doing this could run the risk of having their voting rights revoked.
We didn't start the flame war
- Never under any such circumstances are you to use someone's real life picture or identity to embarrass, humiliate, or hurt someone's feelings. This is a game and if you get to the point where you have to absolutely cross that line, you are in no position to be making fun of anyone.
- I don't want to see harassment. Period. I don't mind flame wars and this series is known for having them every season. But if it gets to the point where you feel the need to get people not involved with the game involved to join your bash party, I suggest you take a chill pill.
BAAAAWWWWW
- I'm a professional host. I don't care who you are, I will always be respectful to you in your Diary Room, on AIM, and on the board. If you don't like me and want to play, I won't have any problems. But if you don't like me and think my presence is going to cause you act like an ingrate, don't bother signing up.
- I'm not a fan of moaning, bitching, and complaining. Note that all twists & competitions from this game are 100% pre-planned in the staff area. Complaining about this game being fixed or unfair will get you a boot in the teeth. Shut your mouth and take it like a man if you something doesn't go your way.
Eviction
- After an eviction has concluded, I will allow the evictee to get anything they want off their chest. However, once that's over, they must abide by all jury/pre-jury rules.
- When you are evicted, you are evicted. That means you are no longer playing this game. I don't want to see ANY evicted player get involved in game politics. This includes campaigning for people to leave and such. This also includes bashing former rivals of yours publicly on the board.
- I don't mind if you stick around and vent in the pre-jury board, that's what it's there for! But please try to restrict yourself from posting such things anywhere else. Congratulating people and wishing people luck is absolutely fine, but anything above that may be deleted.
Quitting
- If it's for games reasons - don't do it. You will be blacklisted if you do so. Think things over before you do something so childish.
- If it's for personal reasons, talk to me about it. Don't just disappear. Life can be shitty sometimes and I'll understand if you have to discontinue your activity in the game in exchange for personal matters.
The Blacklist
- Abusing the rules will earn you a spot on the blacklist. If on the blacklist, any application you send in future games will be ignored and overlooked. You may also be banned from future boards depending on how serious the reason was.
The blacklist will never be revealed to public for their own privacy.
THANK YOU!
I hope you took the time to read these rules. If you have read and understood them, feel free to sign up and get started immediately! Enjoy your stay at the Big Brother House!
