Finally changed Jeff. Changed Russell & Memphis too since their pictures had bad cuts. All non-BB pics so Lydia doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.
Anyone else I should touch up?

Another idea I got. Feedback welcomed.
I got a lot of positive comments about New Guinea's exile system and I liked doing it. So it got me thinking of working that into the trips somehow.
I'm thinking that for the first five weeks (pre-split) that one or more people travel to Nostalgia Island (or something to that effect). Since this game is mostly based on BB11, I guess this could help fit the BB10 theme of different eras in time. On the island there would be a lot of different towns. There could be a 90's Town, Nintendo Town, Woodstock Town, etc. In each of these towns, they would have to complete certain tasks to get closer to a power that they can hold.
This power would be similar to Survivor's Hidden Immunity Idol. Basically if they feel they're going to get voted out, they can play it just before I reveal the votes and replace themselves with someone else. That person will go up in their spot and all votes for the person who used it will now go to that person.
Example:
Dan & Memphis go up House votes Dan out 11-0 Dan plays his power and puts up Jerry in his place Jerry leaves 11-0
Course it could back fire say if Memphis had the power and felt the house was lying to him, played it and put up Jerry, Dan would end up going home anyway and the power would be wasted.
It can only be used within those first five weeks and there will only be one in the entire game since I don't want to go overkill on twists like these.
Yay or nay?

I like the idea of the different towns. Would all the towns be available to the first person who finds themselves on Nostalgia Island, or will one new town be available each time someone is sent there?
That power which you've just described is a super power for sure. There should be some restrictions on it, like they shouldn't be able to put up the veto winner or something. And I agree one time use if just enough.
Also, during the first 5 weeks maybe houseguests can win various amounts of coins for doing certain tasks (such as reaching 100 posts) or for placement in competitions that they can then choose to redeem at the Big Brother Store (which opens up shop during week 6?), if there's going to be one. The tasks could be hidden and announced in the houseguest's diary room when they've earned some coin, or the tasks could be made public from the start, that way they can decide on which ones they want to try to accomplish.
We'd have to come up with the items that can be purchased. But since we might the secret power from Nostalgia Island, we might not want to have too many super items. There could be some useless but fun things, some hidden items that they would have to take their chances with, possibly a veto, maybe an item they could play before nominations to keep themselves off the block (this would also cover post-veto) for the week, advantages for competitions, disadvantages to others, etc.

I'll be honest, i'm not feeling the whole secret power thing, It doesn't seem like its gonna be liked. I can see you dealing with so much hostility from people if that power was to be used. Thats just me though.

what if (keeping with the store idea), people had a chance to find a treasure chest on Nostalgia Island filled with a good chunk of change instead of a secret power that they could then spend in the store once week 6 hits? Or before.

Bring back Sgt Jones! The treasure chest idea sounds good, that power thing might bring some Chima people out.

I think you should stick with the Big Brother Store, cause this power thing could reallly piss some people off. I wouldn't be too happy if something like that happened to me, I like the idea but maybe not within 5 weeks, maybe like 2 weeks or something like BB11.

I really dig the treasure chest idea, actually. The power was just an excuse for people to keep looking for stuff, but I think people would go out of their way to get a treasure chest full of lots of money if they wanted to.
You're probably all right about the power pissing people off since this is a really twist orientated season and I don't want to go overkill. I knew I didn't want a coup since we just had that last season and that was all I could think of. But perhaps no ultra game changing power is better.
And yes, must of the things you can get from the store are minor powers. Auto veto balls, slop passes, hand grenades, etc.
She's going to be "Coach Jones", host of the food competitions.

Hello everyone =] i like the treasure box idea, is it open to everybody or only the person on "exile"? cuz if not i was thinking since there were so many ppl they could give up a vote or competing in HOH or something to win a chance of getting the treasure.

Yeah, it'd only be open to the people on the island.
And to answer James, they'll all be there from the start and I'm going to have the stories kinda interconnect. And to limit people's progress, perhaps they'll have to pay money to get to certain areas (Bus fare maybe). And some places may cost money to enter. For instance, for the 50's I'm going to have a movie theature, so they'd have to pay to get in. All prices would be cheap, but yeah.

This is getting too complicated for me Just sloppy brainstorming for now. It'll look better on paper. For anyone that was not in New Guinea, I'd suggest taking a look at the Exile Island over there to get a better grasp at what I'm thinking for this island business. Course this is just a small twist that'll only be around for a fraction of the game.

I don't wanna post in the planning thread since it will ruin the flow so I'll post here. I love what you have so far. Competition wise it looks great. So I haven't caught up on everything so I'll just ask a basic question.. I gather you scrapped the multiple houses? So it's all 25 under 1 roof? Another thing that I'm torn on is the 9 veto players. I first thought bumping up the players was a smart idea considering the numbers so far, but then I thought about if I was a nominee. That'd make it much harder to win. But yeah not my call. Anyways keep up the good work
